Well everyone is half way there. A lot of success so far and some new discoveries and even a couple of mysteries. If you haven't seen all of your expectations met yet, don't get discouraged, because lifestyle changes take some time. So, today I want to discuss a little more about one of the elements to making these lifestyle changes - A GOOD DIET!
Let's use an example from one of you. This is perhaps the best example I've seen, so, I may be a little over critical, so don't get to down on yourself if you're not eating this well.
Breakfast
5 a.m. Soy Protein Drink (made with 2% Milk or 1/4 cup of Oatmeal - Water
7 a.m. Apple or Light Yoplait Yogurt - 1 Liter of Water
9 a.m. Apple - 1 Liter of Water
Lunch
11 a.m. Soy Protein Drink (made with 2% Milk) or 4 Slices of Turkey - Water
1 p.m. Dole Fruit Cup or Light Yoplait Yogurt - Water
3 p.m. 4 Slices of Turkey - Water or Lipton Tea (unsweetened)
Dinner
6 p.m. Grilled Chicken with Vegetables (frozen) or Progresso Chicken or Beef Soup or Salad with Cottage Cheese - 1 Liter of Water
8 p.m. Light Yo plait Yogurt or Dole Fruit Cup or 1/4 Cup of Oatmeal - Water
Alright - I told you that this was the best example I've seen. What would I change? Are you kidding, with that much effort and diligence, I'm not changing anything in the diet. So what's missing? Exercise. Why am I talking about exercise in a blog titled "A Good Diet". Because it's the missing piece to this example, while others have the exercise part down, but needed some guidance with the diet. Again I use the word diet not as "diet", but what you eat. I believe Zig Ziglar had two rules to lose weight:
1 - Stop Dieting!
2 - Find a skinny doctor.
There are hundreds of different exercises routines, programs, and what-have-you. The number one word of advise is do what you love (eating isn't part of the exercise part though). If you have a four day work week I would highly encourage you to schedule a couple of 2 consecutive hour aerobic workouts on your days off. And then maybe a couple of 40 minute walks during the work days. In fact I would encourage anyone to work out this way. Also a $20-$30 miniature trampoline is a great way to wind down at the end of a day, watching your favorite show or listening to some great tunes, not to mention one of the best exercises you could do for so many reasons.
Keep up all the good work all of you. One month to go and then the fun of your life from now on.
